My main scientific interests is the preparation of heterogeneous catalysts containing the heteropolyacids with Keggin and Wells-Dawson structures, mostly supported on oxides (SiO2, TiO2, ZrO2, Al2O3) and other materials (CNT, BN). These binary "heteropolyacid-oxide" materials with the desired morphology and acidity are physicochemical characterized by XRD, BET, Raman and FTIR spectroscopies, microcalorimetry, TPD and gravimetry. Finally these materials are applied in gas-phase heterogeneous termo-catalytic and photo-thermo-catalytic reactions such as etherification, dehydration of alcohols and oxidation.
My topic interests are:
1) Catalytic reactions:

- hydration of methanol, ethanol, 2-propanol, n-butanol,
- electrophilic addition of alcohols to olefins leading to the synthesis of ethers (MTBE, ETBE).
2) Monitoring in-situ the catalytic reaction over catalysts in IR cell
3) Photocatalytic behaviour of the heterogenous catalysts upon UV light in gas phase reactions
4) Comparizon of the photocatalytic and the catalytic properities of catalysts
5) Sorption capacities of heteropolyacid-support materials
6) Thermal and acidic properties of catalysts.
