Internships

Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry PAS provides opportunities for short (couple of weeks) as well as long (2-3 months) scientific traineeships or job practices in the fields of Institute’s expertise. Candidates should first obtain agreement of the head of particular research group concerning dates and program of the traineeship Students should be able to provide appropriate secondment documents from their university office.

It is also possible to apply for internships /trainings /scholarships within the framework of the National Academic Exchange Agency (NAWA) programmes and the programmes launched by the European Commission:

The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) – programmes

PROM Programme – International scholarship exchange of PhD candidates and academic staff The goal of the program is to improve the competences and qualifications of Phd students and academic staff from Poland and abroad, including people from outside the EU, through international scholarship exchanges.

The National Agency for Academic Exchange supports projects of universities and scientific institutions conducting education, offering scholarships to finance costs related to the participation of Phd students and academic staff in short forms of education (lasting from 5 to 30 days). These projects must include the mobility of the personel both in the field of visits of representatives of Polish universities and scientific institution abroad as well as arrivals of scholarship holders to Poland.

The Ulam Programme

The program enables foreign researchers to develop their careers by intensifying international mobility and to allow them to establish scientific cooperation with excellent host institutions in Poland. A proposal may be submitted only by a person who holds a doctoral degree.
Activities to be carried out during the fellowship may include:

  • conducting research and/or development work
  • post-doctoral training
  • obtaining materials for scientific work or publication
  • conducting didactic classes at the host centre

Duration of stay in Poland for foreign researchers : from 6 to 24 months.

Polish Returns Programme

The Polish Return Program allows Polish scientists to return to their country and take up employment in Polish higher education institutions, scientific units or research institutes. The Programme will create optimal conditions for returning scientists to conduct world-class scientific research or developmental work in Poland. The funds obtained under the Polish Returns Programme are to ensure salaries for Returning Scientists and allow them to create a Project Group (research team).

The Programme is addressed to Polish scientists working in foreign scientific institutions who wish to make use of the knowledge and experience acquired abroad after returning to Poland, by developing their own research teams or getting involved in research carried out by existing research teams.

Projects under the Program may be implemented for a period of not less than 36 months and not more than 48 months.

Erasmus+

Erasmus+ offers the opportunity for higher education institutions to send students and staff abroad to study, teach, or train at research institutions, as well as to participate in a traineeship.

Duration: 2021 – 2027 (2027/2028 – last academic year)

MSCA Programme – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions

The program supports researchers at various stages of their careers by funding research and training in Europe and in the countries outside Europe. It also enables scientific institutions to employ researchers and their employees’ participation in international research and training projects. Projects can be implemented in any scientific discipline and relate to both basic and application research. The basic requirement of the Programme is international mobility of researchers.
