Nasze badania koncentrują się na określeniu struktury, dynamiki i typu interakcji molekularnych białek strukturalnie nieuporządkowanych (ang. intrinsically disoredered) związanych z chorobami meurodegeneracyjnymi. W szczególności skupiamy się separacji faz białek (ang. liquid-liquid phase seaparation) oddziałującymi z RNA i tworzącymi inkulzje w komórkach nerwowych towarzyszące chorobom takim jak stwardnienie zanikowe boczne (ALS/choroba Lou Gehringa) i otępienie czołowo-skroniowe. Celem naszych badań jest zrozumienie czynników fizycznych, chemicznych i biologicznych odpowiedzialnych za strukturę i dynamikę tworzących się struktur białkowych zarówno w skali mezoskopowej jak i makroskopowej. Ponadto skupiamy się na badaniu oddziaływań tych struktur z potencjalnymi substancjami terapeutycznymi.
Our research focuses on determining the structure, dynamics, and type of molecular interactions of intrinsically disordered proteins associated with neurodegenerative diseases. In particular, we focus on the phase separation of proteins interacting with RNA and forming inculcations in neuronal cells accompanying diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS/Lou Gehring's disease) and frontotemporal dementia. The research aims to understand the physical, chemical, and biological factors responsible for the structure and dynamics of the protein structures both on the mesoscopic and macroscopic scales. Additionally, we focus on studying the interaction of these structures with potential therapeutic substances.
